Remove choices from real time shipping
This article will show you:
1. How to exclude select shipping options from displaying to the shopper.
You need this because:
1. You do not want to offer certain types of shipping.
Description
There are 2 ways to exclude real time shipping methods. The first method applies to the entire store and all shipping methods. The second method applies to only a specific shipping method rule.
To block a shipping method from all real time shipping options, ie all carries and different rules follow the instructions below:
1. Log in to the administrator panel and select
"Shipping-->Settings"
2. In the field labelled
"Restricted Shipping Methods"
enter a comma delimited list of the shipping methods that should NOT be displayed. The list can contain either the exact names of the shipping methods to hide or more general names to block. For instance adding a list like, flat rate, international would block any shipping methods containing either the words flat rate or the word international.
3. Select the
"Save Changes"
button
To exclude a real time shipping method only under certain conditions or areas follow the instructions below:
1. Log in to the administrator panel and select
"Shipping-->Methods-->View/Edit"
2. Click on the
"Edit"
link next to the shipping method to restrict.
3. Check the box
labelled
"Restricted Shipping Methods"
and in the text box enter a comma delimited list of the shipping methods that should NOT be displayed. The list can contain either the exact names of the shipping methods to hide or more general names to block. For instance adding a list like,
flat rate, international would block any shipping methods containing either the words flat rate or the word international. Note that in this case the exclusion is only applied to the associated shipping method vs the overall method above.
4. Select the
"Save this shipping"
button
